Memory safety bugs are currently being introduced to the Linux kernel faster than they are being fixed. I assume this is true for all major projects but for Linux there's hard evidence for this: https://syzkaller.appspot.com

I think that's a uncharitable reading of a post that goes: 1. I took this action. 2. It had this impact on another person. 3. I should have taken a different action!

I don't think you need seat suspension for bicycles to beat walking. On the kinds of surfaces that foot traffic naturally forms, am average commuter bike is gonna perform very decently. I think the only qualitative difference would be

Back when Linux was a janky corner case run by loosely-coordinated hackers with sometimes-impractical ideological constraints, when brilliant people were expending heaps of effort to enable support for it, that was fantastic. Now that the j

There is some work in this direction on Linux: https://source.android.com/docs/security/test/hwasan That site still lists 2x CPU overhead. I am fuzzy on details but I believe some variant is in the works that

Looking forward to this. Firefox is great on Android, but ad-block alone isn't quite enough to make the mobile web usable. Hopefully I can find an extension to auto dismiss cookie/signup popups once this rolls out!

In the Linux Kernel instead of marking variables/types as volatile you mark _accesses_ as volatile. there's a pair of macros READ_ONCE/WRITE_ONCE that temporarily cast the pointer for you. I think this is a better way to use
