The viability of Hyperloop One should not be the focus in the context of this article. That's not what this is about at all. It's that Hyperloop One needed Richard Branson on board because Elon Musk is creating his own competitor

Somewhat related to this issue, and yet another potential security issue. Like in a cache, the data in a stateless token will eventually 'go stale', and no longer reflect the latest version of the data in your database. Th

So how is this better than Lambda or Iron.io Push Queues?

Have definitely thought through this process and wound up using Redlock for the time being. I didn't expect it to be a perfect system but I don't want to deal with setting up a queuing system right now when there simply isn't

Ultimately you need some way of archiving/caching data and Core Data is a great way of doing this. I started off with NSArchiver/NSCoding until I found MagicalRecord which made CoreData infinitely easier for me. Add MR to your pro

I have to agree that I thought midmortem meant it was being shut down, less than a day after I interviewed you! ;) Definitely a clever use of words but mortem still feels like you were killing the project halfway through.

I honestly hated Core Data but then I found MagicalRecord ( https://github.com/magicalpanda/MagicalRecord ) and it solved all my problems. Given that at that point it takes less than 10 minutes to get functioning, Core D

The article is nothing about what you're titling it. You are simply speculating, most likely inaccurately, about Google's motivations here.

This same concept happens in sales copywriting as well. You don't want to ask a question that your potential customer can just reply "No!" to and skip over.

I'm confused. Why would someone who's running a profitable business, that works, expose their techniques at the risk of killing the business? You know it may be shut down at some point, so print cash until that point arrives. Not sure wh

This news was reported in January: http://thenextweb.com/insider/2013/01/16/vc-funding-increasi... . Also, using Crunchbase as a source for total funding is not incredibly accurate. CBInsights has far better data on this since they are t

Why are all the comments so negative on this thread? Aaron has personally contributed a ton to the communities he's a part of and I have no doubt the same goes for LivingSocial. It's a company of thousands of employees and one that most

I think the bigger issue here is that new developers of Rails don't understand the best practices for testing. I switched from PHP to Ruby, then learned rails over the past year and it had a significant learning curve. First I tried testin

Users always complain about social logins. On iOS apps that I've built, I've found Facebook login to have something like a 50% conversion. I'd be curious to hear whether or not the conversion is improved by using Mozilla's Persona product
