This brings up a good question: Is RMS a hacker? He has made important contributions, and at one point could have been considered so, but what has he created lately that is worthy of the title? Some titles like "doctor" are really

A neat design here, but I'd rather see designs that are more creative. What about an iShirt whose color could change via bluetooth from your phone, depending on how many unread emails you have? And the quote about graphene was distract

I cannot believe that the #1 comment responding to his thanks is basically a political one to raise awareness of the "broken" U.S. healthcare system, so I'll respond in-kind. What was broken in this case was described by his

RVM is not that terrible. If your biggest difficulty in Ruby or Rails is RVM, you haven't been around long. The cause of problems for beginners is quite simply "change". Rails has been through a few major revisions now, and t

Access modifiers provide limited access control that should not be depended on. They are there to indicate what is in no way contractually agreed to retain the same implementation between versions of that code. So, test what you want, but t

I completely and wholeheartedly disagree with this post. Though Google might be the pinnacle of employment, at most jobs, if you leave, you can often get a salary or rate increase. On top of that, some employers will ask if you got fired an
