Eh, I feel like hating on W3Schools is the cool thing to do. I can't speak for their other language refs, but their HTML5 refs are pretty solid. Just today I was searching for a way to force a form to autocomplete. Now, imagine you are a be

Those swiping gestures from the edges look incredibly cumbersome and awkward. It may look cool in a demo, but performing that repeatedly to use my phone throughout the day looks to be a bad experience.

None of these are bad ideas per se, but this all seems overly ambitious for Valve's first foray into the console business. If anything, what they need is focus. And to me, that focus translates into building one Steam Box console with a sin

Well, it certainly looks nice, but seems limited to mostly front-end web development work. I don't think Sublime and Textmate have anything to worry about for the foreseeable future.

Or maybe it's possible I'm a regular nerd who happens to want Google to address what I think is a useful feature? I've rehashed my sentiments three times in this thread in hopes of it gaining visibility. Nobody outside of one guy seems to h

Yeah dude, totally annihilates Apple Maps...provided you don't want to do any zany edge case actions like, oh I don't know, rename a bookmark from a random street address to an easily readable name like "Tim's House". But yeah, who would ev

Nope. In order to rename starred places in Google Maps you apparently need to use the Google Bookmarks service on the web and manually edit the names that way -- not very intuitive considering how much they got right with the app.

Features are great, but if I can't edit the name of one of my starred/bookmarked locations, I can't shelve Apple Maps just yet.

Wow, my jaw is on the floor because of a huge, but sorely lacking feature in this app: the ability to edit the name of a starred location. This isn't a problem if I want to star "Steve's Pizza" since that's how it shows up in their director

I commented about this here: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4886028 the other day. Essentially, how often will Valve upgrade its Steam Box? Certainly more than every 6-7 years. For those of you thinking right now: "you can ugprade it

I could understand this sentiment if the iOS device in question was an iPhone, but do you really rely on Google Maps' directions to help you navigate on your iPad while you're out and about on the road?

Very nice guide. But I wouldn't build a Steam Box. There's something to be said about consoles and how they provide developers with one standardized specification that they can target over a span of 6+ years that enables them to optimize

The release of dopamine is symbolized by the water being released from the tap. When the water goes down the drain it is said to "reuptake". So bath salts, or MDPV, essentially combine the effects of cocaine and meth into one -- according t

For anyone unfamiliar with bath salts, here is a fairly comprehensive article describing the drug: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/multimedia/bath-salts/ Also, here's a quick summary of what the drug does in GIF format: http://i.imgur.com/P4

A bidet attachment is less than $50. It's also a one-time cost. Having to purchase wet wipes will eventually cost you more. Also, you're still just smearing poop allover your bum with a wipe. The bidet's jet of water effectively blasts your

This is what I found as well. At first I regretted my purchase as I was trying to use it to replace my laptop. Then I played one of my favorite iOS games -- Eliss -- in 2x mode. I've never experienced the level of interaction while playing

Those inline tweets are grating. The overuse of lines to delineate related content looks visually noisy. I also think the top story is given way too much space. On my 1280 x 800 display, the new Digg shows me 2.5 stories. I'd like for them
