Does allowing a model to train on copyrighted material implicitly mean associated output would also be legal? They plan to expand upon this decision, but I’m curious in the meantime.[1]. I’d assume this NYT problem would still exist in Jap

Chinas’s accession to the Universal Copyright Convention, and an alleged desire to comply with international IP law, led to an influx of OECD IP and foreign direct investment(FDI). In hindsight, China wasn’t diligent in the enforcement of I

Poland has actually let in a record amount of migrants, particularly from non-EU countries.[1] Turns out their tough stance was a bunch of posturing and politicking. Perhaps the money they make from selling visas under the table trumps th

The study shows even non-religious people in those same counties have high rates of divorce, so it’s clearly an issue affecting everyone. This is also pointless if they didn’t control for ethnicity. The South has a greater percentage of Af

The only source I could find on the tax discussion was a Georgia senator. When doing the math, on just income and not even payroll taxes, taking 6% of the Individual Income Taxes collected in 2022, 2,632 billion, and dividing it by the est

I’ve seen many people in this thread insinuate driverless cars are as safe as human drivers despite the vehicles being subjected to a subset of conditions the average US driver is. I’m surprised to see such disingenuous statements on here.

Well I could say the same for a human driven cab or transit. My rides are often too short to do anything productive anyways. Even if I were driving, I could listen to a podcast for leisure, same as when I take other forms of transport.

I’m of the same mindset. A cab is still a cab to me, even if it’s autonomous. We’ll still have to deal with traffic all the same. Uber and Lyft showed us ride share even worsens congestion in cities. As a result, in dense locales, takin

I agree. Here in the US, and western world at large, we’re even seeing a rise in astrology, paganism, and Wicca corresponding with the decline of the Abrahamic religions. Some just started to ditch inconvenient beliefs.

The IRA is really just accelerating a trend rather than inducing it. The South had already became our hub for EV manufacturing investment due to business friendly laws. Even if Europe attempts the same subsidies, there won’t be the same e

This is exactly how I feel which is conflicting because my company gains from such funds. My multinational employer, based outside of the US, has been expanding into the US for years due to shrinking growth opportunity in Asia and Europe.

Boston and Cambridge’s transit is deteriorating rapidly. I used to live in East Cambridge and regularly visited Harvard and Kenmore. I watched as both trips ballooned in time due to longer headways and speed restrictions on the train. The

NYC does a far better job at moving its citizens via transit than Seattle. As a result, NYC commuters are the least dependent on cars in the nation. For all of its inefficiencies, NYC is the gold standard of density here in the US. During

Wikipedia is incredibly biased when it comes to certain topics, especially anything pertaining to Jesus. The irony is, the section you have quoted doesn’t even have a source attached! More reading: https://larrysanger.org/2

Development can sometimes increase demand for previously blighted urban areas. A few years ago, I used to live in expensive re-purposed lofts in an area of Boston metro which was in disrepair in the 90s. There’s a similar story for Bushwi
