In that case AMD should blow them out of the water in gaming as they have the RDNA for gamers and CDNA for datacenters.

Even C++ requires inline/linked assembler code in certain system cases to squeeze out maximum performance - why would you think Rust is an exception? It has nothing to do with elitism.

Sure, but don't forget the inherent trade-off - Rust allows you to write safer code at the cost of getting in the way. It simplifies some things and makes other things very complex. It empowers average devs that can suddenly write cert

With JS I meant it was something to run in a browser, nothing serious (initially). So from the historic perspective it was correct as for the reason why it existed. It was not meant to write multithreaded system services where most bad/

Dunno. Young devs can pick basic Rust constructs fast but when it comes to complicated stuff where performance is critical... There must be raw talent and lot of grind. IMO it's easier to write super complex stuff in C++ than in Rust a

JetBrains tried to switch to the usual subscription model when they got new management and due to a massive backlash they ended up with a gobbled subscription similar to their superior previous licensing model.

I am sorry, but what is the problem? So somebody already pays crazy taxes in their home country, then pays rent in another country (including taxes), sales taxes and likely spends much more than locals in the foreign economy. The foreign ta

It's not how it was spelled out in the Bitcoin whitepaper, but how it was sold to the public - privacy was among the biggest draws initially if you remember.

2000Wh power station can be had for <$2k and 2000W solar panels for ~$2k. 3090s don't really consume 500W, more like 350W and that assumes regular voltages; in reality for mining it's much lower. 3080Ti would be even cheaper fo

If you can buy a bunch of 3090s for mining, you likely can buy a 2000Wh power station with solar panels to feed them and pay $0 variable costs.

I wouldn't rely on experts being able to navigate through complexity as it happens quite a bit that a major bug in a protocol obliterating it completely is found 15 years after its inception...

Does Montserrat look realistic in FS 2020? I remember how recognizable it was from Tibidabo but I couldn't find it when I was flying around Barcelona last time.

Technically, the last traces of what is known as Western Europe (i.e. catholic/protestant culture/architecture) end somewhere in the western Ukraine. Orthodoxy/Byzantium culture then starts in the eastern Ukraine.

It's only photorealistic if you use 10-20m DEM, otherwise any mountainous area just feels completely off and unrecognizable (try to fly over Alps with the default DEM, I couldn't recognize anything around Oberstdorf etc.)

This attitude typically isn't about the "best tool for the job", i.e. do I really need DL or are decision trees or some regression sufficient for what I need to achieve? But about the persistent "you don't need DL a

For US-based jobs one could work on W-8BEN form as a contractor from abroad responsible for their own taxes, health insurance etc. Of course that requires a freelancer/business entity at the place of residence/tax domicile.
