I have to agree with this. Currently prototyping a project in Clojure/Compojure but I'm moving the project to Yesod for the production system.

Seconded. I'll even spend the extra time on it if we can do something similar to "Here is the problem and the docs. Email me back within the hour with some working code and we'll get on a call to talk through your thought process". It's lik

More likely than you being out of touch is that you're in a different environment than I am. Personally I don't believe people have to pick sides. It's not a war, more options are a good thing for people who have to pick databases.

I seem to have fallen into a version of this trap. MongoDB has made me a nice chunk of change as a consultant. These days when I mention MongoDB people don't even hide the crazy looks. The interview/meeting might as well be over then and th

One thing on my mind is the notion of a "Star Trek Economy". The idea being that in Star Trek, specifically TNG, the basic needs aren't an issue. Food is provided when needed, entertainment and physical fitness are available, etc. I use the

Not sure about the Harvards of the world, but I'm pretty sure the college I ended up going to only cared about my ACT score, which was > double the minimum score required for them. I know many people in my HS enjoyed it and were challen
