Thank you. I want to add an aside here: I have chronically abused the rules of this site in the past. I was ignorant as to the mission of Hacker News and how it can help me! I realized that my ideas are worth having a slow, measured convers

If the universe is deterministic, how can there be entanglement or branching at all? What need is there for a multiverse if you have determinism? It’s as if non-determinists aren’t sure that 2 doesn’t act like a 3 sometimes because of decoh

In theory, we can still enable end-to-end encryption while forward proxying by a separate service provider, but it might not be easy to implement. The browser would need to be smart enough to route packets through the website and verify SSL

If we want to be fair to consumers and bystanders, Tesla needs their product to safely stop the reckless behavior (not simply warn the user). If it can't do that, it needs to disable AutoPilot. AutoPilot was marketed in a way which led

What would happen if millions of people changed their phone numbers and did not re-register them with new accounts? Does anyone believe a social effort could dissuade the use of phone numbers for tracking people? How much entropy would need

This is just my anecdotal experience but the Fry's Electronics stores in Texas are way better than the ones in California. They are better stocked, better cooled, and have nicer cafeterias.
