I'm obviously biased (as one of the developers of IPS), but since some of the BSDs have integrated ZFS, seems like they should use the Solaris packaging system too :-) https://java.net/projects/ips/

That isn't true; as part of the C++11 support Visual Studio is getting, Microsoft is implementing more of C99 language support. To quote the blog post the other person mentioned: ...the RTM version will also include a few tactical C9

If you like games like SimCity, you might like Minecraft. Although SimCity has much deeper game mechanics, Minecraft focuses on exploration. (HN crowd: bear with me, they're b both exploratory world-building games to a certain extent

Sorry; I didn't realise that _Generic is a C11 keyword: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C11_(C_standard_revision) Also, that SO post is about C++, not C. No, it's about both C++ and C: Because C++ is

The XCode Python support comment is specious at best. We're talking about C -- the lingua franca of systems programming and important on every major computing platform. I'd be more sympathetic to Microsoft's insistence that i

I'd buy that argument if there weren't an obvious, gigantic flaw with it: no video device support (which means you can't even boot to the Android home screen) for the new Nexus 7 Google was aware of all of these issues and s

Because it prevents a choice of more liberal licensing later. Ogre3D was able to successfully transition from LGPL to MID/BSD because of contributor agreements. The Apache Software Foundation, Free Software Foundation, and others all r

My only disappointment is that there's no option for a 64-bit Atom. Yes I know that would mean a 2GB option instead of 1GB would likely be required, but doing OS development is way easier on a 64-bit system. Otherwise, this seems rela
