I think your attitude is pretty shitty, and exactly the sentiment that people in those rural areas point at when supporting people like trump. They're not evil people. They're humans just like you and me and feel overlooked and f

The hardest part is learning how to architect large projects. The difference between good and great is being able to refactor when you hit a wall, and avoiding the wall entirely by designing things well up front.

It blows my mind how many Tesla apologists/fanboys are in this thread. Liking Elon Musk and thinking Tesla is heading for bankruptcy are not mutually exclusive. I think he's generally a force for good in the tech industry and gr

In the case of investigating potentially state sponsored espionage I think it's plausible to keep buying the malicious hardware so the investigation can continue as they work their way up the supply chain.

Shit like this is exactly why the world needs easy to use and free as in free crypto. It's a long road until its even close to maintstream, but I do believe we'll get there some day.

That was also the breaking point for me. I've switched back to firefox, I bought a new iPhone XS (moving off the pixel), I'm in the process of getting my own email server up (though I may just switch to proton mail we'll see)

The idea is intriguing. Perhaps it'd be possible to structure web crawling and indexing as a decentralized operation - drawing inspiration for crypto based storage networks. People would get paid to run crawlers / store indexes o

Agreed. Not everything needs a "fresh" look. The new reddit design is terrible and once they make that permanent I'll probably just stop using it as much.

I'm basically in the same boat. This move combined with the project dragonfly leaks has led me to conclude that google cannot be trusted with my data. That in turn led me to evaluate just how intertwined google is into my life and it

The missing piece IMO is funding, but that may be something that the crypto-currency world could fill. Not sure what the road to that world looks like, but we definitely need a contender because all of the major tech companies have become d

I think audio/video authentication is gonna be huge also. One thought would be merkle proof of hashes of the keyframes and then a signature of the merkle root. drop that bad boy into an eos / eth contract.

The EOS blockchain uses webassembly and it's pretty cool. I've been working on a side project and its interesting to be writing a "smart contract" in C++ that compiles down to wasm. https://developers.eos.io&#
