I recall one day seeing the red banner on the top of the CNN site that read, “BREAKING NEWS: No update on the…” followed by whatever was the hot story at the time. For real. It was both comical and tragic.

Wow. I knew Apple was an investor in ARM, but the specifics are crazy. For those that won't read the linked story, this I found to be fascinating: > Newton was not successful, but Newton actually made $800 million dollars because Ap

Same. I tried the “dual monitor” setup for a couple years and just went back to one. The second was just causing distractions and context switching. It’s easier to focus on what’s right in front of you than look around for stuff.

Being from the UK I tend to use milk rather than cream in coffee. One pack of raw sugar is 20 calories. One ounce full fat milk the same. Being I only drink a cup or two a day, 40 calories a cup is a reasonable price to pay to avoid artific

Having lived in the same house for 10 years and done a bunch of work on it, what I find fascinating is the age of the photos they stitch together. I can look at the arial view and it's from when I had the swimming pool, switch to 3D an

I love the idea of PowerShell, especially as scripts become more complex, having something closer to a “real” language and with decent debugger support is great. However it’s just unintuitive enough, with enough sharp corners, to be a real

I joke about my procrastination with my team: "I looked at my TODO list for the day and there's no way I can get to 90% of it, so I might as well just not get to 100% of it". Sometimes there's a lot of truth to the joke,

I think part of the problem is that video calls make it super-easy to context switch and do something else the minute the meeting becomes uninteresting (e.g. a topic that doesn't apply to you, or just a very dry discussion). Once your

I notice this pdf and most of the links in this discussion are for x86 architectures, and deal a lot with BIOS, getting out of 'real' mode, etc. Are there any such resources for ARM (preferably ARM64) that would cover similar &quo

The OAuth terminology can be confusing, and many write-ups assume you already know some of it, which doesn’t help. In OAuth, an “app” is considered a “client”, even if it’s running in a web server in a data center, as it’s a “client” of the
