No way - I would imagine Adobe will take MS to court over Silverlight in the future b/c sooner or later LSFT will decide to embed Silverlight into the OS.

You leave so much out - how much work/output will each member do? Are both part or full time or is one full and one part time? Are both taking full salaries, partial salaries, or what?

Okay - first question, after reading the links presented, is "Are you sold on giving them equity or are you considering paying them straight salary?"

Written by a programmer who has a myopic view of how data is used. Data is not used by just one application in the real world over time; if your app that uses the stupid database becomes popular (or your startup becomes popular), you will n

I've recommended Pre-Paid Legal many times on these boards and it sounds like it would fit here: http://www.prepaidlegal.com/ . They have a small business plan that might help you. I don't sell for them but I've been a member for more than

No clue - upmodding so I can save this though and hopefully someone will answer it (so that I can come back and see!)

Do you have to love math to be successful in IT? No lol - what a fallacy. It's totally acceptable to be a great developer without knowing how to hand code a bubble sort or how to calculate the tangent of a klabobble. If you want to work at

I'm with lanej0 on this. OP - how technical are you? I've written several ecommerce sites from scratch but I wouldn't know where to begin with you in terms of help w/o knowing more about you.

I wish forbes.com would take YC off it's list.

Blog. I hate vlogs and podcasts b/c I can't scan them to see if the content is worthwhile. Good luck!

Dang. I should've seen forbes.com before clicking. If I had, I wouldn't have wasted my time.

For the non-MSFT programmers here, Scott Hanselman is well known in the MSFT community as one of the top authors and speakers for ASP.NET and .NET in general. The man is awesome.

Why not move to a place that has A/C pre-installed - is that an option? I know that in some cities you're pretty much stuck with window units or nothing.

I'm sorry but a very small, light grey font on a black background is not something I'm interested in right now.

Spoken like a true programmer hehe :) I have to disagree here as I think Photoshop for prototyping will save you days of time. Starting out coding is like saying, "I don't value the design; I want to skip that and just get the app ready." B

I've been a vegetarian for 12-13 years and I have the same thoughts. I've noticed huge changes in my concentration abilities when I eat a mostly junk/unhealthy diet for several days. I know that isn't restricted to vegetarians though.

I like threaded comment systems and I prefer digg/reddit since I can collapse them. Really though - how hard could it be? Any capable hacker could write the system to do such a thing in less than a day I would guess.
