I can't argue with that number much, nor provide any real defense in India's favor, but do consider that the cost of living and labor in India is far far lesser than in the UK. Returning to my earlier argument, this isn't about any sacrific

It is not all Slumdog Millionaire you know. All countries have problems that they can't cope with. In the face of Katrina what happened for e.g. in the US was clear for the world to see. Again, these are parallel lines of progress. Spending

You are confusing the two issues. India is capable of feeding its poor. The bureaucracy are too damn apathetic and corrupt to bring that into effect. But why should the ones who want to make a difference be subject to criticism that they do

The same is true for many other space missions, and quite frankly doesn't matter. For example, check the projections on the James Webb space telescope and see for yourself how the costs doubled and tripled. IMO we shouldn't look at it in te

Fair enough. You have a valid point. Do consider then, that the projected cost of this space mission IS far lesser than what India spends on lot of the basic infrastructural needs that you point out are missing. They are missing, yes, b

So we should drop everything and focus on that alone? We are also struggling with a massive brain drain. Such missions are going to inspire an entire generation and maybe create a sense of satisfaction and achievement. I, for one, do not do

We are on Mars. ON MARS! A different planet! There's a vehicle roaming its dust bowls letting us know what it looks like. If you aren't yet losing sleep over what a dedicated, drive and unreasonable few of us can achieve you are living it w

IMO new entrants into a market usually take the position of "be as similar to a known brand without being the brand" quite often. It is easier to get early adopters that way.

Your comment suggests that Samsung went out of its way to ape the iPhone because it wanted to ape the iPhone. If you had some other brand in their place as a market leader then it would have been that brand's phone in place of iPhone And NO

I used it only to stress my point :) Anyway, if you compare for e.g. a Galaxy Ace with an iPhone there is quite a lot of similarity in the size. shape, dimensions etc. None of this is to say that Samsung was trying to 'deceive' anyone. What

IMO nothing illegal or underhand here. Most products do this. If I'm not mistaken many products release detailed descriptions to competitors under some kind of NDA too.

When you start defining education & learning 'objectively' you can kiss progress goodbye. That we don't directly apply most of what we learn is a bad way to look at why we learn stuff in the first place.

From personal experience strictly: First and foremost the exercise is something we can all use, successful or not. What working out did help me do is get into a sort of a discipline and made me eat and drink proper healthy food. A side effe

A regular tea/coffee does just as well. I never had either before doing weights in the morning and frankly never felt the need either. Takes 10 mins more to snap out of drowsiness but isn't an impediment.

Can't agree enough to this! If you can't make it to the gym there's always the ever-dependable push-up. It is a really simple equation - good exercise routine -> better exercise posture -> better general posture -> no annoying p

The Central govt general 'control everything' approach does make things worse, especially given their track record of not being able to do anything useful in the past 5, I dare even say 10, years.

Those sites are showpieces. No one ever checks or updates them. I don't think most people in the govt would even know of the existence of those sites.
