Why the snipe at the end? Perhaps they would buy plant based food instead. What you’re describing sounds like a wi for everyone.

If meat is the trigger to generate real social change then great! I don’t want to see heads on spikes, but if people are genuinely bought off by cheap meat that’s kind of sad.

For me part of the cultish ness is justified because I have to teach about 100 non programmers to use R and rmd every year. Tidyverse solves the big problem that R used to have was that there were hundreds of ways to do things, none of the

Agree wholeheartedly. In addition, young parents have lots of advantages over older ones which we miss if we wait until career 100% sorted. The sleep deprivation alone would have been much easier in my 20s!

While I agree with the core of your argument, we don't need terms like "despicable retards" here. It cheapens the debate and makes it harder for people to agree with you.

The problem here is confounding. Do we think there are no causes of fatherlessness that are also causes of poorer life outcomes (hint: there are plenty). Given this it's very hard to see clearly how much impact this makes, all the pers

It would be cheaper than prison. We do so little to support foster families that I don't know how we know that it's not sustainable... we just haven't tried. It's a cliche but if we spent 10% of of what we spend on Nukes

Exactly. I already had that factored into my prior for whether my business was going to get cancelled by Amazon. I’d actually expect to fade a court for knowingly facilitating the shit on Parler.

But the thing is, have you actually read the stuff on Parker this is about? These people are actively inciting violence. Their leaders are encouraging violent assaults on democratic institutions. They really aren’t that different from what

Incentivise consumers by giving them a cut of the charge to manufacturers when they report trashing an item. That is, if you recycle a phone within 5 years you get £5 (or some percentage or sale price) which is charged back to the manufactu

Gay marriage has a popular majority in the UK and Ireland in both polls and referenda. Is it that different in the US? Interpreting old documents is hard, and where there is silence or substantial ambiguity it seems right to err on the side

First, there is a massive selection effect going on here (motivated parents). Second, let's see what happens if we fund private and public schools equivalently. Class sizes of 10 don't happen by accident. Paying for private educat

The title is ‘post-soviet state’. The article doesn’t liken the US to soviet era Russia, but rather to 90s era. > The intentional institutional ineptitude and callous nihilism of contemporary Russian society is the product of a seventy-y
