Then mourn the social democratic consensus that built that prosperity, rather than the symbol of empire and privilege that it replaced?

I had never considered before what the right course of action for the Queen (and now Charles) would have been, but this is it. That said, I do think it’s an unrealistic ask of someone who’s entire life and all those around her are dedicated

I think you are just making a joke, which is fine, but I would reassert the point I think the OP was making that there is a qualitative difference in the nature of the abuses committed by individuals and firms.

I love Signal, but in some jurisdictions government request for data can be accompanied by gagging orders with serious penalties for breach. I'm not sure that list can be considered complete.

Tiktok optimises for what people spend a long time looking at, but I don’t think that anyone would claim the metric it uses is what we would want to define as quality in the broader sense.

Right, but there tend to be other children who are smaller not far away. It always strikes me as weird how many parents seem to have something against passing on clothes between kids.

Says someone who doesn’t have kids. I really don’t think it’s a big empathetic leap to imagine that young teens would want to take part in the modern world, and that includes some access to the internet. And no, constant supervision is not

Do you have kids? It’s really not easy to withdraw all internet access without substantially disadvantaging them. But I don’t want them reading 4chan either. Anything which makes that less likely without fundamentally breaking things is wel

I agree. But I think the key thing is that deciding what phase to feed the system was still the key task. Creative people are unlikely to be out of a job anytime soon, even if they end up using something like Dalle to make quick prototypes.

I doubt it, because the process of thinking of phrases to feed dall-e is really the hard bit. This is ok for a logo like this where it’s fair to say the base level expectation is not super creative. This logo is cool, but it doesn’t really

I think you can if you pay. However, in my experience people often put Christian to indicate they were raised that way and it implies very little current belief. Unless hardcore atheism is itself a requirement I’m not sure it would be a goo

For less confident people IRL, the ability to like with low cost is actually great. I have had dates with people I would probably never have approached in real life and online dating has been a confidence boost generally.
