Very common in US, very rare in Eu. I believe is partially cultural, partially to show off, and mostly because there aren't enough public study spaces/libraries. (at least in Northwestern). In Eu, you look like a dork if you work

Sadly is very easy to leave zombie processes. Usually I put the Pool in a with statement, but is not bulletproof. But yeah, multiprocessing.Pool.map,imap, imap_unordered are neat.
