considering it sends your unique ID (or download token) during installation, when you disable settings after installation, it's already too late. it seems there's actually a way to turn it off before installation using enterprise

I've been using librewolf for a while after experiencing issue with waterfox. it is not really a full fork of firefox, it's firefox with a few patches applied and sane default configuration.

a browser who does not develop their own code base but reuse google's, with a business model based on monetizing users attention to ads network while pretending to protect privacy and block ads. I wonder what could go wrong here ? mayb

Modern firefox is called librewolf or waterfox. It respects privacy and works quite well (Actually much better than chrome based browser on my machine). Mozilla management seems to be the issue, not firefox itself.

The list of things you have to toggle in about:config to have sane defaults is mindboggling and librewolf offers this out of the box. And instead of the bad UX about:config page, every tweak is in a configuration text file and you can easil

Have you heard of freetube[1] ? I find the experience way better than vanilla youtube in a browser. It allows to remove all youtube annonyances (autoplay, comments, suggestions, ads, in video ads, and more) and tweak a number of things. Onl

Came here to state the same, for a few years my firefox fix was to use waterfox[1] instead of firefox. And now my best firefox fix is to use librewolf[2] instead of waterfox instead of firefox. I had enough of mozilla treating me and my bus

From I understand, China's foray in EPR was simply a move to leech the technology from France to improve their own ability to build nuclear plants. A few people were vocal about this before it happened, and things did not go well for t

What I find incredible is that this reactor is going online at all. Okiluoto started in 2003 and was supposed to cost 3 Bns and be ready in 2009. it took 18 years instead of 6 and total cost is difficult to know exactly but is over 12 Bns i

also France stopped 13+ nuclear reactors mid-winter which really did not help. But defects were found that would jeopardize the current evaluation to renew the certification for using them for 10 more years, so the decision was made to stop

Not so sure: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30657725 Also we already have a similar level of wrongdoings with the French EPRs.

We've seen similar scandals for EPRs in Flamanville and Okiluoto, forged document to fake certification of vital components of the plants, unqualified workers, lack of planning, lot of outsourcing,… it should be documented on the relev

Taishan 1 has been shut down last summer due to what seems to be a design fault and may not be restarted. It is feared that all other current EPR suffer the same design mistake, but there are currently no plan to stop them.
