You don't even need to do that for gun buybacks. People routinely make firearms with $10 of homedepot parts and turn them in. In theory you could turn in a "Zero Percent Lower" which are about $20 or so...

Wow, this is such an angrily indignant article. It borders on zealous idolatry frankly.

This is pretty irrelevant to the modern world. Colt traded on the name alone, thats it. Colt also hasn't been a top tier vendor in at least a decade, pretty much every vendor makes better equipment.

Not true, the GDPR only applies if you do business with the EU. There are some companies that have decided to become "GDPR Compliant" that are outside of the EU, but they don't really need to.

Its almost like people need a tool to tell them not to leave stuff open like that... Between MongoDB, Jenkins and Elasticsearch, thats a whole ecosystem of pwnability that is probably just starting to be exploited.

The TLDR on this is that the mayor of San Francisco was long pilloried for giving Twitter tax breaks for moving to SF. Turns out it was the right move and jobs amongst most sectors increased. We lost wholesalers but even gained manufacturin

Google only really does http/https, finding mongodb requires scanning for 27019 and then pointing a client at it. I believe Shodan does this.

My guess would be that it was setup by someone for test/dev and then it was forgotten about. I've found this to be a "time honored" problem heh.

If its public information, its highly unlikely to be a GDPR violation. They may also be operating in a country outside of the EU, so they'd be immune to GDPR regulation anyways.

I got some more intel on this -> unlikely sim swapped, probably just number spoofing. The "quality" of the "hackers" indicates this is the work of skiddies rather than an actual hack.

Pretty sure BPF originated in BSD land :) Prior to BPF there was "Enet Packet Filter", then Ultrix Packet Filter then something under SunOS before it became BPF. BPF was created in 1990 (at Berkeley) which was widely BSD oriented.
