Furiosa didn’t have the grandiosity and great pacing of Mad Max: Fury Road, but it still had great audio. I’d rewatch with a better sound system.

Honestly, if you’re in a job where you meet potential connections in person, it’s a lot easier to give someone a card with your info rather than to tell them how to find you on the internet and hope they remember.

I believe they asked things like “Get notified when you appear in your friends photos” or something along those lines. My memory is fuzzy though. Phrasing it like that would probably get more opt-ins. It’s a lot less scary sounding.

You and I must have worked at the same insurance company. Except my time was before k8s. They had a multi-million-dollar data pipeline rewrite that somehow turned out to be slower than the old one.

I saw the headline earlier, and my first thought was "I hope he was the pilot, because that would be a fitting way to go for a legend." Not only was he the pilot, but he was flying solo at 90 years old.

My way of planning and writing software shifted a good bit after I went from working at a mid-size tech company to working for myself. Suddenly I cared very much about how long it took to reach a functional product and very little about dev

I’ve wanted to build an app that could estimate total solar energy generation for boondocking RVers (meaning the position changes a lot), and if what others are saying about the paid version is correct, this seems like an intriguing way to

In the ZIRP era, everything seemed possible. Some of the resulting companies just got enough traction to prolong their demise.

From what I can tell, the biggest proponents of AI in everything are the investors anticipating that people will want AI in everything. I actually enjoy using LLM chat interfaces like ChatGPT directly, and I do benefit from Copilot in VS C

Google scrapes like a maniac. And for profit. Many others do the same. A website can put up a TOS prohibiting such use, but my understanding is that is essentially unenforceable if the site is publicly accessible. The recent Meta v Bright D

Not in a dry climate. Check out Desert Drifter on YouTube. He routinely finds Native American clash and wood structures (including ladders) abandoned in the desert that are hundreds of years old.

I bought his last book when it was popular, but I just couldn’t get on board with his mentality. I can’t get through life by always anticipating some kind of disaster.

Yeah, after a certain amount (like enough to cover expenses, have a little fun, and build savings) and a certain amount of time, your income stops being something that makes you excited. This is especially true if you’re around other people

Not true. It’s one of the most groundbreaking changes to self-education on just about any well-known topic. It’s like having a tutor who is available to ask endless questions and provide a variety examples. When I’m learning something new t

Have you tried the RV Life app? Not sure if it’s any better than your Garmin, but it finds RV-friendly routes. I’ve heard of other RVers who have also used the Hammer navigation app used by truckers.

I often use the old trick of skipping to the end to see if there is a coherent conclusion, and if I think the conclusion is interesting, I’ll go back and pick my way through the body of the article. I agree with your points though in genera

We can legally own things. Maybe in the future, our income is derived from farming our AI servers. Just hook them into a broader network and allow people to hire them out for AI tasks. We just focus on building our bot army.
