The median salary in San fransico is much higher than the rest of the US so I feel like comparing the salary to the entire country might be slightly unbalanced.

I know I'm splitting hairs, but the us government effectively censors obscenity, defamation, whistleblowers, inciting violence, copyrighted material etc.

You can export to multiple devices now on Google authenticator, other 2FA apps have also supported that for quite a while. As far as cloud storage goes, standard notes might be a good option, I don't use it for 2FA, but it's an ex

That's an interesting insight coming from a different angle than me. I started in operations building and repairing electronics then replied to an internal hiring memo. How did you end up on the QA world from dev?

I found this discussion thought provoking and a bit frustrating. I think I may have had some gaps about the severity of this problem but I think there was only a bit of a throwaway consolation discussion to privacy advocates. I think there

I'm not sure what you mean by mainstream, but SSDs were still pretty niche in 2009 and traditional hard drives have remained to be pretty popular until recently due to the lower cost.

Decentralized microcommunities are just places to communicate with others, nothing about them is dangerous unless there is dangerous people in them. You can find all kinds of people in places like these, from left to right or even some pret

Reading an article from 1995 with its original typos and all. Its funny reading someone criticising the lack of proper editing when there are a couple obvious misspellings by the author.

I wonder if AI will continue to throw Elon Musk name around for no reason just to freak him out more. My second thought here is that many of these paragraphs basically repeat themselves, but is not unlike how a younger person might write gi

That's a murky grey area, I definitely have more aspirations as a musician that prevent me from enjoying it as much as if I didn't care at all about producing a good album.

Yes but it's cloudy for me because my leisure sometimes involve things that take a lot of work (spending hours in the recording studio, cooking an elaborate meal, spending all day in the garden). So I'm not sure if I'm doing

Great point, I guess the opposite of a prepper video is just an hour long video about someone showing you their regular pantry with average amounts of food and explaining where they want to go on vacation for the next several years.

After reconsidering my statement, I think you may be correct. Slavery can be capitalistic if you only include the buyers and sellers as members of the market. "Slavery is capitalism" is most certainly wrong though. "Capitalis
