Western music (for want of a better term) is so deeply rooted in even 16th notes that almost anything sounds acceptable. I think being limited to 3 curated instruments per pattern helps a lot too.

That's what was good about the early stages of sites like Coursera, Udacity and Edx - they had quizzes, exercises and exams that are auto-graded that provided that kind of valuable feedback for all tiers. I think they've all evol

I'm assuming you want something rigorous - based on the comment you replies to. Many people will recommend CLRS [0] but I prefer it as a reference, rather than a learning resource. I feel it's very dry and academic. Instead I'

A favourite technique of one of my colleague's was just to mash the keyboard randomly to see if the app breaks. It's very crude and not at all foolproof. For the lack of sophistication it's shockingly effective at highlightin

I've got several of these for one active email in particular. I've always thought it was bad data entry. There is a cluster in the US south - Georgia, Texas and Alabama. At first I tried to rectify the mistakes but gave up due to

They also suffered the same problem mentioned in this post. Documentation pages that showed a method's signature with no explanation of the function or example usage. So many times I'd look something up only to find the method nam

The file save dialog is the worst UI I have to fight with daily. It's such a seriously badly designed piece of UX. Is there a simple way to save a file to a parent folder in the UI without using Ctrl+L? Other than select the grandparen

I use anki to document and remember all my emacs custom key-bindings. That might sound silly but it's easy to accumulate useful things over the years in emacs and forget about them. Emacs is vast and deep and there's a lot to lear

What amazing control in that video. From the very start, spreading the cards so evenly that every single card can be shown to be in order, then even more the precision needed to riffle the cards together perfectly eight times.
