That makes sense because Cline existed prior to tool use being part of the standard LLM APIs. I think OpenAI had it at that point, but Anthropic and Ollama hasn't yet standardized on an API. But the vendors are training their models s

This is also happening to Anthropic. The adoption of AI is accelerating right now, or at least token usage is accelerating is with agentic workflows coming on online.

I do worry about the viability of OpenAI in particular. So much of its talent went to other firms which then built up amazing capaibilities like Anthropic with Claude. And then they also have the threat of OpenSource models like DeepSeek

I've been ESM only for the last 2 years and it has been amazing. Now to be fair, I am doing it on new projects so that probably simplifies things, but it is very freeing and performant.

Hmm getting rid of physical plugs will affect a few different workflows. I think it is currently required to use the iPhone as a webcam on MacBooks. I love that feature. Most portable chargers assume physical plugs, very few are wireless.

It doesn't seem to work that well. Once you move off the primary camera axis, like rotate around, you notice that there are many regions with only sparse resolution and there are gaps everywhere. It is totally unusable for anything.

I think Google sees a fast growing company and is acquiring it. Many GCP related acquisitions are weird, like Looker, Apogee and are awkward fits. Unsure how this goes.

Yeah, the anti-AI responses I got to this seem to come from people who don't actually need to use GIMP to do real world tasks, but they are sure vocal in their opinions as to the direction that tool should go. Hilarious.
