I think in general "encrypted email" refers to end-to-end encrypted email which of course does not have that problem.

I found the article misleading. Real brain activity was not simulated. From the press release (emphasis mine): "The nerve cells were randomly connected and the simulation itself was not supposed to provide new insight into the brain&

The dramatic tone of this article seems disproportionate to its complaint. I can't help but feel that the author has a grudge against Sal Khan which motivates his writing as much as his disapproval of Khan's teaching strategy.

I imagine if signal was jammed and only C/A codes were rebroadcast the drone would use those instead of nothing. edit: Assuming that navigation was relying only on GPS

I disagree. You could, for example, unintentionally lose entropy without entirely breaking your crypto.

Unless you are trying to argue that we are incorrectly using the word pedophile, I don't think that study[1] is relevant to this discussion. It is a comparison of recidivism between child molesters, some of whom meet certain criteria for 'p

Middle line and balance? If it would have become public record at trial, it should become so now. How can one argue that Aaron's death should cause less detail of the prosecution to be made available?

Moxie demonstrated sslstrip on Tor exit nodes. It will not work on hidden services as the address contains a hash of the server's public key.

I empathize with your position, but I don't think it is fair to paint such a negative picture when the reality is, at worst, much less offensive.

I'd be interested to know what kind of speed gains HN got from SPDY. I'd guess very low as there aren't many requests (per page load) to multiplex.

I thought the Gentry method solved the problem of enormous cyphertexts (via 'bootstrapping') while still preserving addition and multiplication operations. Is that not true?
