It's just so frustrating. Inventing the Myhrvold Way means not executing, not actually bringing anything into this world -- just sitting around waiting to license people derivative ideas or sue them.

Is it just me or are all these patents pretty trifling? Stacking toolbars, web templates, mouse timing? Really Microsoft? Did Marc Benioff say something mean to Horacio Gutiérrez? Maybe they can team up with Intellectual Ventures and do s

A lot of other people have had the same thought and you know some of them did? They wrote some software to automate it.

Alt+Shift+F works for me on Chrome. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Keyboard_shortcuts -- I had to include Shift since Alt+F is used by Chrome to bring up the tools menu.

Clay Shirky's recent post on complex business models reminds me of this. http://www.shirky.com/weblog/2010/04/the-collapse-of-complex...

I didn't have my resume out there. It doesn't serve my interests to aid the recruiter in their fishing expedition.

I had this exchange with a recruiter working at Google. Recruiter: I am writing to introduce myself as I recently received your name from a current Googler who mentioned you'd be a strong asset here. I am hoping that you might be open to

ExtraHop Networks is hiring. We're a startup in Seattle with a high-end network analysis product that already demolishes our competition in many ways. Ideally we're looking for superb C programmers but if you're a great programmer and are

We were just looking at flup's code today and wished that its behavior with idle threads was a little better, that it wouldn't kill them off right away but wait a bit to see if more requests come in, like Apache can be configured to do. Ma
