Yeah, seems low. Avg software eng in the bay area last year was $125k (according to 7x7). I make that as a jr rails dev with about 2 (real) yrs experience, though I've been doing front-end (seriously) and rails (leisurely) for about

Not a big fan... The movement of all "navigation" to the right feels unnatural and my eyes keep trying to shift focus to the right (away from the content). Poorly done, IMO, for these usability issues.

But before/after you've experienced it, you should know how far it was, otherwise all you know is subjective, with no actual way to gauge it. "That felt really damn far" is kinda worthless unless you can say, "Wow,

You need to create two gears, a big one and a small one, then place the small one directly in the center of the big one. You can then attach a chain around a gear. Took me forever.

Exactly... People who are being ignored usually have reason to be. If you're too dim to realize I'm just busy, then I probably don't want to be texting you anyway. If you're in a situation where I might be ignoring you

I love them: Why? Because if I don't reply to someone, it's because I'm either too busy or intentionally ignoring them and if it's the latter, I WANT them to know they're being ignored.

It was a great perk. Essentially nobody really made full use of it (the full $500/mo per employee), but it was always great to have the ability to do so... Sometimes you'd just be out with friends for a big brunch and realize, &

My last job offered each employee two "Sunday fundays" a month... Basically we could pick up to two Sundays each month to go have fun on the company's dime, up to $250 (each sunday). You couldn't buy any goods with it,

I wouldn't go that far yet... Signing an online petition is about the least you could possibly do, aside from nothing. If we want real change, we need major protests, people to flood Congress with calls & letters, and more. That

I had this happen in the past too and found it to be the result of two issues: 1) Using dropbox to house a very large git repo with massive changes and tons of branches... Every time I switched branches, the hundreds of files would change

It's not really our job to protect everyone from themselves though and adding a net not only would hurt the aesthetic of the bridge, but serve as a constant, dreary reminder of death. In addition, adding a net is simply a small measur
