So because everything is a Byzantine labyrinth due to scale we're all going to agree to remember to add internal headers to strip to another service? Maintaining the header to strip list is just another piece of technical debt to kee

Android uses a similar approach to launch apps quickly. When you request to start an app the zygote process forks and the child does the work of starting the app. It allows the children to share all the upfront initialization that is done o

And to be fair it is not like any database implementations implement the entire spec, or that the spec itself is nearly as long as the C++ but still very underspecified. Piped SQL fits in perfectly with the overall SQL pot-luck buffet! I fo

Probably because you wouldn't seek into a database row? I guess querying by PK has some similarities but it is not as unstructured and random as a seek. Also side effects such as sparse files do not mean much from a database interface

The benefits of being a superpower are up for debate. Being a nuclear power is all that is needed for the security of US interests. There is significant need for investment locally.

Netflix is building a workflow orchestrator not a container orchestrator. The viable alternative would be Airflow or maybe something like Temporal. K8s alone isn't going to meet the need in this case. Does the world need another workfl

In the GFC the government literally created the Troubled _Asset_ Relief Program. Those MBSs were assets and didn't magically become liabilities. The problem was the market value of those assets plummeted because no one expected them to

Trucks are literally an asset - you can't do depreciation on a liability. The only way a 'truck' could be a liability is a lease for said truck. There are plenty of economically rationale reasons why a company may own more t
