HA is relatively painless even with 9.x if your ok with wal replication. The problem there though is like they say in the paper, the amount of crap that is sent over the wire is pretty substantial.

Landing at O'Hare in a smaller bombardier 2x2 (crj 700 I think) jet following a jumbo was an interesting (white knuckle) ride I had in recent memory. The plane turned over lake michigan east of the city and felt like it went completely

How does rust deal with numbers in JS given that a u64 is unrepresentable in a native JS number type? Does it simply keep an array of byte values around instead?

Couldn't this be a problem for application authors and a potential source of DoS activities? It seems this should be a big red warning flag somewhere.

I've never had such issues with postgres personally. I know mysql is awful for schema migrations.

I was able to go to engineering school thanks to FAFSA. FAFSA seems to be run by the Dept of Edu. I want my taxes to go to such programs personally. My family has certainly become wealthier and been able to pay more in taxes because of FA

Huh, hasn't wallstreet being doing this, and even putting these things into FPGA's for nearly a decade now? Hell I wouldn't be surprised if they're printing ASICs with their algos.

The docs make sense once you get used to them and understand what they're telling you, but it does take some getting used to. The general output of rustdoc could also be improved in my opinion. A bit more summary of available methods&#

I'm more interested in the techempower style benchmarks, at least those show some sort of semblance of real life usage. Do some queries, return encoded json etc.

Stabilizing custom derive is a massive usability improvement given the large number of ever growing libraries taking advantage of it. This is probably the most exciting release to me besides the 1.0 and MIR integration releases.

Testing backups or at least monitoring them for correctness is a huge deal and it's problem I myself fudged up on one occasion, right around the holiday season which was terrible. I've since setup wal-e with daily base backups del

This is why I've refused to install this crap on my phone, and have since uninstalled Facebook itself. I just use the web version and set it to desktop so it doesn't try and nerf the site.

Nifty, I know moovit has been doing this for a few years now as well as crowd sourcing route information for a bit. Transit has a pretty nice UI and a few interesting integrations. Fun to see some competition in this app space.
