Lets get real here, its partially a chicken and egg problem, but the population and density has to be there to support such a dense and useful train system. Parts of my city (Chicago) support the kind of rail stations he talks about. Some p

Meanwhile fixing anything in this x220 has been as a simple as going on amazon. Keyboard? amazon. Battery? Amazon. Display? Amazon. Plastic enclosure? Amazon. I've nearly replaced every damn part but the motherboard in it at this point

Heh, the CTA here in Chicago isn't perfect, but wow is it useful. I put on about 2 to 3k miles a year on my car thanks to added bike lanes and public transit. I can tell you biking, bus, and train are far more enjoyable than sitting in

Phones being disposable isn't going to change, so looking at the annual cost of ownership is really all I care about. If a $1K iphone lasts 5 years vs my $170 android lasting 2 years, its still a better deal to simply spend $170 on the

Healthcare coverage for a family of 3 at middle 30s costs 1200/mo, more than my mortgage. Do you believe paying for insurance, to cover some inevitable medical issue, irresponsible?
