We're currently keeping it as simple as possible. We just use a table and this query that runs every second: "DELETE FROM job_queue RETURNING type, info;" Works great and reliably so far. I think our current volume is on the

We’ve implemented two types of queues using Postgres tables in production and it’s been working nicely. Happy to answer questions about our usage if it’s useful :)

Nice post! For anyone serious about using PG for queues, I’d suggest looking into https://github.com/graphile/worker which seems very promising.

Some of the modern Indian dating apps seem to follow this approach and do quite well. It’s likely more accepted there because of the tradition of arranged marriages. Western audiences might find it strange.

Ah, good point! I might try to create an eslint rule that incorporates it.

Interesting, thanks! I wonder how easy it would be to write a VS Code plug-in using that.

Interesting. I’m currently using Postico on Mac, but considering TablePlus. Why do you find Postico superior?

How does it compare to Postico for working with PG databases? TablePlus seems very similar to Postico, but with support for other DBs, which we don’t need.

There’s plenty of GUI tools, but what about tools for writing SQL inside VS Code? We usually write our DB migrations in VS Code along with any other code changes, but the PG support in VS Code seems to be lacking. Just some naïve validation

We use Postico and are pretty happy with it. It's better for our use cases than e.g. PopSQL. That being said, we'd drop Postico any day for a smooth editor with 100% Postgres typing support.

Yes, a sample DB would be amazing! I'd love to try this out, but wouldn't give access to one of our DBs w/o setting up a specific role for BaseDash etc.

The cards would be much better if he reversed the order of his pipeline. Generative models are easier to train and yield better results if they're conditioned on additional information (just see all the conditional GANs for images/
