I didn't move, I was already living in a nice house in a remote village (altitude 1000m) in the French Alps. I wouldn't go anywhere else for now, but my wife has plans for us to move somewhere near a beach (think one of the many s

Yes I tried via PulseAudio but it didn't work very well, and as it doesn't go through Kodi you can't see what's playing currently. As for AirPlay, I only have android phones so I can't test it.

I've been using a 43" 4k curved tv for a while, and I love it. The biggest problem is that it's driven at 30Hz, but as I use it only for coding I don't care much.

I love Kodi, it runs my house for watching movies, listening to my mp3 collection or internet radios, and does it great. However what I'm really missing is a way to stream everything in and out: - allow streaming audio to other compute

This may have security implications, I highly doubt they would be authorized to make such a change without consulting anyone.

My job bought me whatever laptop I needed, so I got a beefed-up XPS 15 (i9, 64gb). If the M1 max could run Linux I would have bought that instead.

Well yeah isn't the same thing then ? The resulting code is plain x86 assembly, and you just trust it to have been sanitized by its transformation to/from WASM. Looks like your definition of a trusted compiler to me.

Exactly. At first I thought it was just a thing in the U.S. movies, but when I had to work with american people (I'm european) that was a shock: they're like in the TV series, grandiloquent and enthusiast and ready to applaud at e

All of these are doable with LSP. I'm a big fan of the "LSP rename" action which will rename a particular semantic item (e.g. a method) across files, or the refactoring actions (e.g. change an "if let" into a "

Even better, there are already "drivers" in modern Linux distribution, e.g. under GNOME you have to choose "Français (AZERTY, AFNOR)" as keyboard layout.

Aha I get it. If it's not connected to any network, there's not much harm in it collecting some data. But I see it'll be a problem for the common people.

How can someone on HN be unable to "disable" a TV's WiFi network ? Can't you just ban its MAC address from the router or something ?

Even with a fresh install of Windows 10 or 11, a recent laptop has chances to burn out in your bag because of the "modern suspend" feature, a.k.a. S0ix state.

Not really the same but I've been doing paragliding since a long time, and my wing is definitely a giant sensor for 'air movements shape'. Kind of a part of me when in the sky.
