This approach introduces a lot more pain from experience: "From experience" — that's the thing. "YOUR" experience. As a JS DEV I've experienced a lot of good and bad examples. When things are done right,

It looks like you are either misguided or are doing something wrong. This is not how React or Angular (or Express) works. Only the stuff that is required per-route (or whatever state) is "rendered" server-side. The rest is chunked

I'm using a wildcard certificate too for several reasons. The main reason being: if you want to test your code on a real device (iOS and Android simulators included), a simple self-signed certificate won't do the job. But with a L

A "server" in this particular case is a machine capable of running most video games (and Steam, GOG, any other game client), ergo a Windows machine.

As a local I can confirm, Vilnius has became very strong with its startup community. A lot of international businesses are moving in, a lot of big companies are already in. And that all gathers around the smaller companies and startups. Sup

I've stumbled on a couple of bugs with Dejavu, and wanted to see if I can submit a bug fix. And, well, submit and fix them I can, but boy oh boy is the code terrible. Only use this on your own risk and on a throwaway ES instance, as th

I'm struggling to understand why this is on the home page. The code is terrible, the demo is terrible, the documentation is terrible, and the purpose is unclear.

The relay attack is very old and is very commonly used to steal all kinds of cars, here in Europe it's mostly Toyota. You do not need the key to be present in the car once it's started up. It's a feature of all key-less cars.

Of course I have no proof, but there are links, and this is one of them: http://www.bbc.com/russian/news-40674508 , which you can use as a point of reference. The Russian net is talking about it (on youtube, on twitter,

That's the thing about functional programming. I personally don't remember the last time I had the need to write a foreach loop. Foreach loops even kind of feel _dirty_ to me. All I really need now is Array.map, Array.reduce, Arra

Indeed. A pure function should not depend on and / or mutate external variables. I'd do it like this (yay for one-ish-liners!): const playersByCountry = footballPlayers.reduce((acc, player) => { return {...acc, [player.

In my opinion the top rated comment is right on point there: "I’d say that ImmutableJS is your anti-pattern here, not FP in JavaScript as a whole."

I bet there's quite a bit of us here, who could tell a story on "How I got my career in the tech industry without any degree at all". Same for me. And although I could tell a longer story, the TLDR is "love what you do

I don't really get why ^this^ is being downvoted. It most definitely is NOT the industry by itself. It's humans in general.

Totally. 64% of my users are on mobile. Can one really afford to ignore that crowd? Of course, mobile web development is, as I tend to say, the IE6 of modern days. So many older devices, and we also need to more or less support all of them.
