Good points - but here the ink is still trapped in its enclosure and we don't want it to spread at all when we're not writing.

Maybe, if it’s not about a bottle of water where we don’t want anything to flow out, one could use some sort of Transparent Material At The End Of A Gel Pen Refill to close the plastic pipe and prevent exposure to air to prevent evaporation

“Gel ink is viscous, but it’s not thick enough to prevent it from flowing. This means it can evaporate over time” These are three different, unrelated phenomena. In a Newtonian fluid, no matter how large the viscosity, the fluid will flow w

Can’t upvote this enough. I actually include an hour of rant in my Fluids class where we dissect CFD results from blogs or LinkedIn - hypersonic reindeer for Christmas are fun and obviously a joke, but everything presented sincerely, like a

Not only the engine - but in Huntsville you can see two Saturn V launch vehicles! A mock up standing, and the other one made of actual stages (not intended to fly, though). The only other places you can see the Saturn V are the Johnson Spa

It's not, though, the Venus atmosphere does not behave like an ideal gas all around, it transitions into a supercritical dense liquid towards the ground.

Yes I understand. Imperial is awesome because you can divide a foot by exactly 2, 3, 4 , and 6, which of course, is the main problem everyone has every day. Metric on the other hand sucks because none of my measurements will ever be nice ro

The thing is, though, that you have these conversions even within the imperial system ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_units#/media/File%3... ) but not within the metric system. My experience with U.S

Granted, I am biased towards propulsion, but we are not talking about some bolt or bearing as a 'single component'. The propulsion system is a complex thermodynamic cycle, with tanks, turbopumps, preburner, regenerative cooling, i

I agree with 'courage', but the problem is that it all depends on the courage of the people with money rather than the courage of the researcher. Someone has to take the risk and hire you for a tenure track position, and someone h

I don’t understand your first paragraph - is this related to the F-1 development having strong iterative components? Also, Combustion instabilities date back to at least the A4/V2, not quite new, and largely the same engineers.

I’m not sure 3200 full scale tests of Saturn V’s F-1 engine, 2000 in an iterative trial-and-error scramble to suppress combustion instabilities is what I would call “overengineered to cut out iteration” during Apollo http://www.

It was rather a project by then Chancellor Gerhard Schröder to make sure he had a nice retirement fund and was indeed hired by Russian Gazprom right after he left office. Now the question is whether Germany honors these arrangements or not.

The article you linked makes no statement about the origin of that first dip. Regardless, whatever dips there are, this is completely unrelated to him using his position for personal gain, which is the original discussion here.
