Note: That analysis (ELA) only really looks at gradient/diff of compression artefacts in pratice, so if you losslessly edited the original from the RAW source at full float32 (say in Nuke or something which supports full precision work

As someone who deals (in the VFX industry) in CG rendering/lighting and compositing/rotopainting footage on a daily basis, I'm really not convinced by these arguments at all. Certainly the hair "lock" to me looks a

What diagram / whiteboard are people talking about? Is there more than one photo? The only whiteboard I see is on the right hand side at the back, mostly obscured by people, and I certainly can't make out what's on it.

It's unfortunately missing quite a few, e.g. like the Jupiter images: https://blogs.nasa.gov/webb/2022/08/22/webbs-jupiter-images-... (agree again about the obnoxious orange mouse-over).

It's similar to lens flare: lens manufacturers go to great lengths to reduce lens flare (there's a limit to what they can do though), and in VFX/CG we often add them for effect in movies, both for full-CG stuff and even on to

2021 MBP 14 has this issue for me with the stock charging brick (NZ - which has 3-pin sockets): but Apple don't ship the stock charging brick with an extra extension to the socket, so the transformer/brick plugs (via a corner adap

Do the jpegs (or hief?) look as good on a 27-inch monitor, or just on the phone screen? Capturing non-raw in my experience (iPhone 6S, now have 13 mini) the jpegs are heavily de-noised, and really don't look that good 1:1 on a large

Is this still under active development? I looked at this two years ago, and it didn't have TLS 1.3 support, so I went with openssl and have replaced that with s2n (which uses bits of openssl under-the-hood) last year for some things. T

Yeah, Theme Park 1 (1994) had pre-rendered videos to emulate riding the rides (and so for things like waterslides and rollercoasters didn't match your layout), but Theme Park World had 3D real-time rides of your layouts.

Does engine correlation actually prove anything though? Some of the 'statistical analysis' that has been posted on twitter regarding it in the last week has been against hundreds of engines, so 'engine correlation' seems

No... Use case is taking a copy (via say tar) of a directory hierarchy on a MacOS drive, and copying that to another system (Linux), and untarring... then you've got all the .DS_store files everywhere... Not the end of the world, but a
