Same here. High-resolution tablets are great for reading comics and web pages (and for reading code in Vim!), but for real long-form reading, e-ink is unbeatable. I have a Kindle Paperwhite 3G for this purpose that always travels with me. I

Interesting, all the Berlin exit nodes are in a place that is a huge construction area on the Museum Island. Based on this I suppose they were only able to do city-level positioning (GeoIP or something similar).

The line "If you have a phone in your pocket, why wear this? And it doesn’t seem to replace the need to carry a phone." applies to both Glass and smart watches equally. Both are wearable screens augmenting your phone, though the Glass has

Yep, the 3G hardware (especially the battery) is still to big to fit such devices, which is probably why Glass also will just tether to your smartphone. But "spy cameras" with internet connection certainly exist already: http://www.3gspyca

It is unlikely to Google will build factories to make the Glass, either. It might be a Google-branded product (like ChromeBook Pixel), or something they'll license to other manufacturers (like Android), or a hybrid of these (Nexus). Time wi

It may be a cause or effect of this, but the open source culture has fractured in the 2000s to many smaller projects or libraries instead of these huge mega-projects (say Linux, GNOME, KDE, Mozilla, OpenOffice) that mostly come from the 90s
