Plugging your phone in is annoying. I want to avoid doing that as much as possible by only doing it when I go to bed.

As other comments have said, this isn't going to change that experience whatsoever

It's all about the tail scenarios. Sure, my daily life is OK. But what about when traveling or spending a weekend day bopping around doing errands, getting a bite to eat, then going to a friend's house? I never want to think about

Just do not understand the market for this one. The current size of phones is a solved problem. Nobody is asking for these things to be thinner. Most people use cases and are happy to add some thickness for battery life. Besides, the camera

Agreed, but paper fails at organizing. My brain loves folder structures and hyper specific note files. Remarkable seemed like the perfect device for me. I’ve settled on markdown in vscode and a todo list app.

For losing the bet, you can pay me the 20 bucks I wasted on hyperpaper ;) It was my last ditch effort to make me use my RM2 but I found it didn’t fit how I wanted to take notes and was still pretty clunky.

Yeah I’m not suggesting anyone go out of their way to buy it as an ereader but it does the job for me considering it would otherwise be a paperweight.

“Almost device” is a perfect way of putting it. I only have an RM2, but I was never able to get into a flow where I’d easily and happily reference the notes I’d taken. The UX was so clunky it took forever to navigate the folder structure an

I am happy to be proven wrong but I’m shocked they believe there is a market for this size at all, let alone at $450! The sample text on the stock images looks useless. I wanted to love my RM2 so much. The write path is great. Writing notes

Almost every digital movie provider has a rental option. Moana on Prime Video is 3.99 to rent.

Awesome work! I’m really bullish on small models and think they have the most potential to change our daily lives. Can’t wait to play around with this

Anyone here use perplexity? I’ve tried numerous times, but once you get over the flashy UI, it feels like a lot of fluff.

What exactly is PlanetScale Postgres? Is it plain managed Postgres ala RDS or something more bespoke like Neon? I know PlanetScale is working on a Vitess-like sharded Postgres (Neki?) but I’m guessing that is not yet running in the cloud?

Ignoring the ridiculous complexity of Entra and how easy it is to not realize you’re making a mistake with it (especially internal at Microsoft where there’s no delineation between all the internal tenants you need to support and 3P custome

This is what SQL Server Hyperscale does. I’d assume Aurora does something similar too

A series of small manageable chunks becomes a long running task :) If LLMs are going to act as agents, they need to maintain context across these chunks.

Try giving Marc Brooker’s blog on this a read: https://brooker.co.za/blog/2012/01/17/two-random.html It is only better than leastconn when you have stale information to base your decision on. If you have

Interestingly enough, it looks like the team was just hacking on an open source extension and organically attracted some customers, which snowballed into raising capital. So definitely seems like there’s a market.

What do you consider an “agent stream”? I can’t even imagine the cognitive overhead of managing 60-70 agents let alone the physical ability to churn through them as they complete their work and re-launch them.

Yep, I totally read the article incorrectly. You’re spot on and honestly I’ve asked myself the same question - though less from a national security perspective and more a “what’s the point of this extra tax to mitigate this incident”

I work in azure and this is wildly mischaracterizing the risk, though it is news to me that there are non-US nationals doing escorts for the non-airgapped government clouds. I assume it is OK to say this: Microsoft has a “China” cloud and a

I understand the massive anti-OpenAI sentiment here, but OpenAI makes a really great product. ChatGPT and its ecosystem are widely used by millions every day to make them more productive. Losing these employees doesn’t bode well for users.

I don’t even necessarily disagree but it’s mostly based on vibes than anything from this experiment. They couldn’t let the article stand alone, it had to turn into an AI puff piece

I read the article before reading your comment and was floored at the same thing. They go from “Claudius did a very bad job” to “middle managers will probably be replaced” in a couple paragraphs by saying better tools and scaffolding will h

Hyperscale/Aurora are definitely not competitors and it seems odd you got that premise from the article since it argues the complete opposite.

Congrats to the Neon team. They make an awesome product. Obviously it’s sad to see this, but it’s inevitable when you’re VC funded. Let’s hope Nikita and co remain strong and don’t let Databricks bit.io them.

It feels defeating to see so much money being thrown at what is either an obvious grift or someone hoarding world changing technology. There’s a reason data centers aren’t in space… If someone has the technology to make it feasible, they ar

Congrats to the Neon team - they make an awesome product. That’s about all the good I can say here. I don’t blame them for selling out. It’s always felt like a “when” not an “if”. I would be surprised if you can make money selling cloud da
