Well it can still be true that FreeBSD runs Linux binaries better than its own native binaries, though I don’t think this is the case.

I no longer remember the numbers but the speed ups were measurable. That FPU had 24 FP registers (as compared to 8 in a regular 287). The best case would be to load a matrix to the registers and then have a bunch of vectors to multiply the

I remember using povray too. Officially it required a 386 pc but it could be recompiled for 286, which is what I did. My PC had a IIT 2c87 coprocessor that had special 4x4 matrix multiply instructions, so of course I modified povray to take

It makes the logs less noisy. And with much less noisy logs it is easier to notice if something undesirable is happening. Also from my experience this 50% is more like 99%.

If you are on H1 then once you lose your job you'll be immediately out of status. Now being out of status is not a very big deal, but it does mean you'll need to find a new employer willing to sponsor you as soon as possible. USCI

For regular mortals the cheapest way to get Mathematica is to get Raspberry Pi. Raspbian has Mathematica in its repo (sudo apt install wolfram-engine). The performance is not great but maybe the latest RPi 4 will help.

It used to be like that but these days it is possible to get a security clearance while retaining the second citizenship provided there is no "conflict of interest". Whether there is a conflict of interest or not will be determine
