I've wondered this early in my adult life because I was unfortunate enough to come into contact with some predatory personalities early in my business career. It bothered me a lot because I was raised to be "good" by good pe

Everyone on HN should be rooting for this bill as the current law has singlehandedly sunk many small software businesses.

My point really is that people get their kids' phones because they think they have to, but that's the root of the problem. We don't prevent our kids from being online - what we prevent them from doing is being online on their

We allow my son to be online via his computers. He has a Macbook and a desktop PC. He's on Discord and a Slack. He can iMessage friends via his Macbook. The thing about a phone is that there's a data plan and it's out of your

I am here to report as a parent of children that I have been able to keep them off of social media by not getting them phones, controlling the Internet in the house, and paying close attention.

Anything that helps shake up the system is good for artists at this point. It would be cool if this app helped you gauge how much to pay your favorite artists… If it logged the artists you listened to and then gave you something like a bill

Yeah that's great that you were able to translate what your kid did to a video. I bet he was stoked! A friend of ours helped his daughter get set up to do do Lego time lapses with an iPhone. Also a fun way to make something. Pretty soo

Publii is great. Basically a local, offline Wordpress as a Windows/Mac app which can publish a static site to Github pages (or other host). Somehow has stayed under the radar for years but it is really nice.

Muxtape was the best and I still miss it. It would be wonderful to be able to make mixtapes for friends and just share them without needing to be on Spotify or some other walled off service.

We had Bird electric bikes in our town. They were too expensive to use, though some people did. Mostly college kids from what I could tell. Still, I used one once and it cost me $10 to get just a couple miles. Not worth it.

Really awesome to see Romania at the top of this chart, happier than even Finland. After decades of living in misery under the Ceaușescus during the 20th century, Romanians deserve some time in the sun.

We own a 2008 Honda Odyssey and I swear it is the greatest vehicle I've ever owned. Honda perfected the minivan as a utilitarian family vehicle. We see them all over the place too - amazing durability.
