Google Play Books allows you to download an EPUB, but only if the book is from a DRM‐free publisher. Tor Books is one such (sci‐fi) publisher, so I buy their books through Google Play. I don’t know a way to check in advance if a Google Play

You misremember—it’s the other way around. IE never supported self‐closing arbitrary elements, because IE never supported rendering an (X)HTML page using an XML parser. Requiring the slash to self‐close, and allowing any element to be self‐

But the meaning does change based on the parent tag. <p> is not allowed to be nested, just like <li> and many other elements. Those are rules anyone writing markup has to remember, whether XML or not. Allowing <li> to cl

You’re quoting a description of implicit end tags, but the conversation is about self‐closing tags, which are a different thing.

Implicit end tags aren’t sloppy at all. Documents using them are completely unambiguous and completely well‐formed, as has been the case since the inception of the language. In fact, the fact that implicit end tags and implicit elements are

Outer Wilds gave me plenty of enjoyment, but isn’t a favorite. I got through nearly the entire game on my own. Near the end there were two sequences (the collapsing ground area and the sandy/thorny area) where I knew roughly where I

In the 90s, my family (inveterate roadtrippers) always kept a Rand McNally road atlas in the car. Each page had a map covering (usually) a whole state. I don’t know what projection it used—Albers, perhaps?—but I remember as a child wonderin

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is certainly entertaining, and I’m happy that some people enjoyed coming up with it and others enjoyed watching or reading it, but if it replaced Pride and Prejudice , the world would be worse off.
