It sounds like you submitted a link to HN or similar and have concluded your lack of success was caused by an issue in your code or a defect in your sales funnel, but that was simply never going to be enough, it was never going to be that e

Supreme Court rejected Apple's last chance to stay negotiating a fee for using 3rd party payments in apps based on costs, so Apple asked the judge to force Epic into settlement talks and proposed a commission of 5%-15% that ignores &qu

What a day for app store regulation: when it rains it pours as the saying goes.

They've also restricted registration to confirmed emails only, not sure if it's part of this move or not but previously you could put junk in and not confirm, prior to that you could skip adding an email entirely. They've als

Yeah but in terms of practical consequences this would only be a marketing problem if they weren't still allowed to refer to it as chocolate!

Very nice. The font or font on buttons like "CHOOSE DIFFICULTY" and "CHANGE FIGHTER" is badly exceeding the bounds of the button. May need Jonah Hill as the final boss.

This isn't really the AI's fault, it's up to the server to enforce restrictions like this an AI shouldn't be deciding what is a valid input parameter for their API and then only using it in the manner the AI considered l

Astonished by the volume of issues and PRs for this project, they've really felt "complete" for the years I've been using it.

I find personally that the most comfortable way to augment my coding with AI is using GitHub Copilot's auto-completion. The code is produced in small blocks and guided by notes I put in comments, while I control the overall structure

Calling them a "game studio" is cute, three years before this Butterfield and Fake had sold Yahoo their previous startup Flickr. Although not a huge financial success it was one of the most popular websites on the internet at tha

> Everyone wants to say they have something the llm doesn't. LLM can't waste weeks debating stacks and tools and then recast the problem as a new framework that needs to exist. * Check mate *

The reproducible build process is also a critical component, not just source code access, because what you download from the marketplace could be different to the source. All boils down to trust "but verify", these are the ingred

The only truly-trustable option is basically F-Droid's reproducible builds (or similar) with source code availability: https://f-droid.org/docs/Reproducible_Builds/ Eg this app: https://verificati

Some interesting examples but to nitpick... Apple explicitly bans executing code that isn't bundled within the app and they historically don't revise these rules unless it's to include fees for something. It seems more likel

The real waste is that tweaking a config setting is a one-and-done deal, I don't want my tools to be side projects that require maintaining their build chains and frequent customization even if an LLM is doing the heavy-lifting.

Very nice. I've become addicted to using the `openapi-typescript` libraries to ingest type definitions and then `openapi-fetch` for an automatically-typed client, your debounce library slots over it while preserving all the typing and

I like this approach too, just have to build your tests around the expectation that there will be unrelated/residual test data. This is also very useful when you're testing the frontend too like Playwright tests where cleaning up

What that tweet doesn't mention is how much "big tech" has been fined/settled in the US - which is also billions of dollars collectively for privacy, competition and other issues they created.

Even if if takes 5 years it'll still be worth it - AWS, Azure and Google Cloud are huge businesses. Everyone had a 10-15 year headstart on Azure and it's one of Microsoft's biggest earners now.

I don't know, there's certainly mixed results so far for the DMA which has harsher penalties and none specifically for how this would play out with the DSA. We've seen Zuckerburg pivot from openly pledging to defy the EU [1]

For Roblox their 6% of global turnover ($5b) is $300m which while it seems trivial, is 30% of their profit ($1b). For a company like Google this fine would be in the vicinity of $24 billion, which would be a bit over 20% of their annual pro

That sucks, the main reason I like KeyChron is the little switch on the side of mine that toggles between Mac and Windows! I wouldn't buy another keyboard without this feature TBH.
