I have a great product, have quite a few people that use it, and would kill to have $250k in venture money to take it to the next level. I'm just in Alabama - and that's why $250k seems like such a high number for a napkin idea (I

> A tech company which only exists as a napkin held between two hungry young men with no asset other than a gleam in their eye gets a notional value of $250k+ on day one. Here's what I don't understand. Why?

Gets orders from FBI to set up something at Facebook. Goes to FB and sets it up. Goes to NSA to train a team to handle/store/query the data stream he set up.

Plus, knowledge in other domains is great for creativity. You never know what you'll use, or tie together, so random knowledge is inherently good to have. I also disagree with what you quoted.

Location, location, location matters too. $50k in Alabama is at least $100k in SF.

I agree completely. When I was in Art school I was working on a project that instead of using charcoal to create the darks on a white sheet of paper, the assignment was to use a white conte crayon to denote the light areas on a black sheet

So in the first line, it has 1 and then checking to see if it's equal bumps it to 2 allocs, and finally the third call, to begin releasing, brings it to 3 (then removal of all 3)? That's super weird - I have yet to encounter somet

You were doing great until the last sentence. Why is a lot of the criticism jumping to attack the corporate entity behind the design, instead of the design itself?

To me, reading messages is a more pleasant experience on iOS 7 compared with previous versions. It's actually one of my favorites of the new stock apps they created. Sure the design is a little lacking, but as far as usability goes - i

As the messages move closer to the bottom of the screen they become more opaque. So as you scroll, the things that preside close to the bottom of the actual device, that are on screen at that moment, will be totally opaque.

This trope is annoying too. Design is how it works and functions, yes. But visual design is a major facet of that too. A large part of app design is the visual aesthetics. It's what helps make people download your app. It's most o

How is yours holding up on 6.0+? Mine is super laggy on 6.1 - I can't imagine it being a good experience with 7.

It's honestly not that different. Messaging is just as easy as before. Using Calendar is just as easy as before. All of the apps that aren't Apple's are the exact same and will be for the beginning of the official release. Yo

iOS6 is at 93% and it hasn't even been a year yet. Where's Jellybean? Who's still stuck writing apps that are compatible with Gingerbread and have to use ActionBar Sherlock?
