You can use chart.js without moment. You do not need any date library if you're not using the time scale. If you are using the time scale you can also choose date-fns or luxon as lighter weight alternatives.

I think most chart libraries use SVG. There are trade-offs between the two approaches and both have their advantages. One of the places that canvas really shines is performance. In the past I've found Chart.js and some of the faster SV

Have you done this? My worry would be that sooner or later you'll have a candidate who posts the assignment online ruining your weeks of effort. It also seems like it makes it much easier to cheat if you make it a take home.

Agreed. That's the only reason we're not on Kubernetes right now. It really dramatically increases the amount of infrastructure we need to run when we're forced to run three Kubernetes clusters to run a single MongoDB replica

This submission's title is horribly misleading because Play is not a Scala web framework. It's a web framework for Java and Scala. As someone who's used Play heavily for the past couple of years, I'm very excited by this
