You can have both. Cloudflare has an IPFS gateway that you can use with a Cloudflare domain. Content hosted in IPFS and CDN-ed via Cloudflare's network. An IPFS-capable client will bypass Cloudflare via the dnslink entry. See https:&#

Yeah the savings would be on the flat rate (Stripe charges $0.30, who knows that Starbucks pays). Grocery stores, convenience stores, etc, are also not selling Starbucks gift cards for free.

MoonMail[0] is a similar product, but runs via Serverless framework on Lambda and other services on AWS (or their hosted version for $$). I really love the idea but it was a huge hassle to deploy due to many service configurations and diffe

Yes, the franchise tax. You can't get out of it by incorporating in another state. CA residents pay CA taxes.

Look up setting up a single-member LLC in your state. It's usually fairly simple and cheap (but state dependent).

Not sure if this is based on their earlier pricing, as I know there was a price reduction, but I'm calculating ~$9 per month at 0.25 vCPU + 0.5GB memory. (0.25×$0.04048+0.5×$0.004445)×24×30=$8.89 https://aws.amazon.com/

The math is excluding compounding. A simplified look (payment due at end of 15 years) is around 6.3% annually https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=2.5%5E(1%2F15)&assumpt... The math including payments is a bit mor

My reason: I want to create things that other people can run on their own for ~free and scale with usage. Services that can spin down to 0 (or under a free tier) are ideal. Examples: Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Cloudflare DNS. If you have to pay

This is exactly how it works. You get minimum wage. If you get tips, your wage can be reduced to the tipped employee minimum wage of some $2 per hour. Usually $2 plus your tips put you over minimum wage, but not always.

NAT gateways are one of the things that blindsided me on the whole "serverless" idea for hobby projects. To have a Lambda function with access to the outside world and your private network resources your $0.01/month function

You can use JavaScript on the frontend to call a Lambda function that you 100% control (including CORS, etc). You can use this to do things like authentication, authorization, and rate limiting, as well, versus just giving open access to an

Agreed. I've switched out my complicated GitHub+S3+CloudFront+Cloudflare for static hosting to Netlify. Netlify also handles some of the stuff you don't even think about - e.g. partial deploy failure. With my past scripts I might

Generally you take out a loan at X% if you have some opportunity that will pay back >X%. Also, loans can help with liquidity. I'd rather have $1,000,000 cash and $999,999 in debt than $1 to my name. You can work with a million dolla

I like that Lambda can scale down to 0 and up to infinity without changing your architecture. However, a $20 droplet is probably a better value as I've spent many hours banging my head against AWS Lambda docs, Serverless framework inca
