Why do you find midnight at the top more natural? I find the author's choice more natural as it reflects the apparent position of the sun.

I think there's a mistake in the first example, it talks about for-in being bad but the example doesn't actually use for-in. > There is no really good reason to predefine the array length. There are good reasons, though they're usually

So the overwhelming attitude here is that the advice in the link is bad, so why does it still have 32 points and waste my time by being on the front page? Please down vote articles like this.

In case it's not clear, this really has nothing to do with Facebook except for the way it's marketed (suggested use). Note: of the symbols there, '%' seems to stand out as a character that is on just about all keyboards right? (maybe '$' al

I don't think this will directly lead to that happening. Assuming 1.8µs/day, then it will take about 1/(365.25*1.8e-6) ≈ 1500 years for a 1 second difference to accumulate. I believe the effects of terrestrial bodies have a much larger effe

In that video it looks like safari now auto hides the scrollbar when it's not being used (kinda like on the iphone), seems like an odd thing to do, since 20px of screen space isn't as precious on a desktop as it is on a phone.

The best solution is to just make the currency very difficult to counterfeit, eg. see Australian money which is plastic, textured and has a transparent section; alas, this software still detects Australian notes.

The article states the goal to be under 2000 characters, to state it in terms of lines of code (as the submitter has) is kinda misleading when the following is considered to be one line: if(*c-10){K=c[0]-16*c[1]+C;L=c[2]-16*c[3]+C;}else
