I think its a combination of things. One is that they were using etrade or another broker before robinhood came out. Two is that $7 on a typical trade is pretty small. Anecdotally, my trades are $1k-$5k, so $7 is maybe only a tenth of a per

Yes, having one place in the most congested part of the city where all people can find their way home is very useful. Having to take BART to Milbrae before switching to Caltrain is far more annoying than getting directly on Caltrain. Same f

I think what he means is that not all servers are created equal, so counting "servers" is a useless metric. An EC2 32xlarge instance with 128 VCPUs is going to handle far more traffic than a large number of smaller servers.

NYC is nowhere near "as liberal as it gets" when it comes to these issues. I would say that, anecdotally, I find that "NYC culture" and "Uber culture" have a lot in common.
