It could be because Reddit has a subreddit specifically for XKCD ( http://www.reddit.com/r/xkcd ), and many HN readers are already familiar with it.

When I saw an image in my feed reader, this is what I thought. Glad to find it dead.

I'm interested to see how HN avoids its eternal September. I'm optimistic. There's more than one way to go about it.

Every time someone clears their cookies they have to log back in. If someone is such an apathetic user of the site that they can't even log in, they'll stop using the site the next time they clear their cookies anyhow. All Delicious is doin

This may be a silly question, but how does flagging happen? I've been reading for a few months - wondering if there's a karma threshold before one can flag?

When the title explicitly declares the content of the piece, the content should adhere to whatever format is implied. I'm looking for 10 actual ideas that I can scan through, not 10 witty headers like "Get Off the Couch."

I rarely give my password out in that way, and only ever if it's a well-known service. It's foolish to do; that implies that it's foolish to require.

I second that YouTube recommendation wholeheartedly. I clicked on it wondering if it was the Ira Glass video, and it was. Very helpful.

It's easy for a programmer to cover higher living expenses in NYC because tech jobs pay well here. If you quit your job to make a go of it with a startup, you had better start making money quickly, or your reserves will be depleted before y
