Luck is an element, I also think you need a certain amount of psychopathy. You need to bs a lot of people, be single minded to the extreme. I'm not saying it's universal, I'm always surprised how people look up to successful

So I'm personally responsible if you rape someone, based on some nebulous concept that men and only men are responsible for policing men. And then you choose the phrase "not every man is a sexist" it seems pretty sexist to me

Not necessarily. At the very least an 18 year old who has been forced to fend for themselves is very different to an 18 year-old who still lives at home and has their mum do their washing. I know who I'd rather employ.

Cool. I can sort of understand massive banking systems still running on COBOL, I would have thought basic programs small enough to replace. It looks like it's actually embedded in test equipment though? What kind of basic are we talkin

I got 3 out of 10, and one I recogised. Does that mean: A. I'm a sociopath because I'm unable to detect the cues B. An inherently good / naive person that has never needed to differentiate between a programmer and a serial ki

The issue is one of the monolithic nature though rather than adding a new abstraction. Adding a new abstraction that allows programs to work together in a better way isn't the issue, it's making a walled garden that you have to bu

It's nice that my idea of how to do an 8bit shifter is how it's actually done. No doubt it was patented though, despite me being an amateur programmer and no experience in hardware.

There's a couple of issues. 1. Militaries generally feared their soldiers using too much ammo. Eg the magazine Lee Enfield was only supplied with one magazine, and early on was only intended to be fired single shot with the magazine us

I've found charity shops good for DVDs and CDs, if only because every so often someone with the same taste gets rid of their collection so you end up with a little cache of "you may also like" but created by an actual human.

Banning cars would do the same though, even more so. The issue is one of appropriate spaces, if we actually had decent cycle lanes then I don't think we'd see this issue.

So do you program the keybindings in Forth or lisp? Is the lisp implemented in forth? Or the forth in lisp? Are parentheses forth words?? This hurts my brain. (And/or makes me want to implement a forth in lisp in forth, as a quine)
