Got sidetracked reading through the Overture.js documentation and source, which I hadn't seen before. It seems like a really impressive Javascript framework. Live queries ie. data views, lots of great animation support, nice set of sto

Haha me too! I think that it's rapidly converging on Austin though. Getting more expensive every year, more condos going up, etc.

On the mac BBEdit is incredible. A several hundred MB log file will bring Sublime Text to it's knees, and BBEdit has no problems at all. +1

AFAIK, Netflix actually wrote a React "Virtual DOM" => OpenGL renderer. You don't necessarily have to map the Virtual DOM to a real DOM. http://conf.reactjs.com/schedule.html#beyond-the-dom-how-net...

I wish someone would create a large Flux/Reflux demo app. I love the "one-way data flow" model and the patterns established by Flux/Reflux, but I feel like I would really benefit from seeing a large, complex application

I'm a huge fan of Objective-C - it's been around for ages (it actually predates Java) and it's design makes it enormously flexible. That said, it has it's problems: many people dislike the "brackets everywhere"

Would it be possible to build a software-level mesh on top of these devices even though they don't officially support meshing? In other words, could someone build an iPhone app that implements some sort of decentralized DNS and routes

What lost me were the code examples for things like "name registration." Take this line for example: contract.storage[tx.data[0]] = tx.data[1] They could have at least used a named local variable for "tx.data[0]" to give

I totally agree with you about the spacing between methods. I've actually found myself putting a double-space between methods, but I do that in most languages so it hasn't bugged me as much. Thanks for posting the image!

I'm curious about this statement as well. It sounds like the author might be: - Creating big complex methods instead of breaking code into smaller (testable) ones? - Nesting callbacks multiple levels deep, instead of using something li
