I don’t see the dilemma - if you want to appear 50% more productive, why not actually be 50% more productive too? Or do you mean being more productive doesn’t automatically translate to it being visible.. yeah that is a tricky one..

True. Git works over ssh natively. you set up a repo in your homedir using “git init —bare”. Say in a repo subdir. Then doing git clone user@server:subdir will clone that repo on another machine and allow push and pull over ssh. In other wo

Yeah I dont think Linux will take over, nor do I want it to. With “win” I just meant for Linux desktop to gain a market share enough for vendors (software and hardware) to be hopefully obliged to support it. That said, we’re already seeing

I agree - people saying that kind of stuff I just can’t take seriously. Programmers know to use revision control systems, practically from the start of their being programmers. For the same reason: because you can break your own code. Not u

Depends on the Mac mini model I think; used Mac mini m4 16gb 256gb are priced quite low compared to the performance - I believe close to best bang for the buck - and are I believe near best energy efficiency. I love them for heavy cpu tasks

There are maestro cards, bank cards that work very conveniently including with nfc, including with Apple Pay. Given that Apple Pay supports multiple kinds of cards.. my phone probably works almost anywhere..

If the local network as a whole can do work, connect to the Kira-alternative for their work, but the network is isolated from the internet - then it counts as airgapped IMO.

Wow, that does sound like a big improvement. My git commits are, when not forced to be otherwise, very sloppy, even though I’d prefer them to be neatly self contained. But as you imply, there is friction to making these in git, while making

I’m a bit surprised (but interested) to read it beats cython (in performance I assume). Cython can - and for performance, should - be written so that loops and code in loops are pure C code without any Python interaction. Even the GIL can b

Coming from LP-mud love, I found it very noticeable how similar the text of actions was between MUDs and EverQuest. The text box of actions and world answers read very mud-like.
