I use Google Music extensively from within a Fluid wrapper, and the key thing this doesn't seem to do that that solution does is keep music playing and background the app when the window is closed. Other than that, this is fantastic!

I don't buy this argument at all. Let's start with what might be a fairly typical set of variable declarations in Javascript: var firstVar = "one"; var secondVar = "two"; var thirdVar = "thre

I know that I'm in the vast minority, but I don't see what people find difficult about SBT. For the most part, it seems to keep itself out of the way. I would say I've found it only slightly more cumbersome than Rake, and a b

TDD in Scala is very easy. I do it every day on several large Play! applications. I feel as though the author is doing something crazy, like compiling everything on every test run and always running all the tests.

This is most certainly NOT a bad thing. The vast majority of Rails users prefer RSpec, so it's effectively the standard.

As a (for context, Android) user, changes to Google Maps have already adversely affected me. I (until very recently) lived in NYC. The best way to tell what direction you were facing when you came above ground from being on the subway was t

TheLadders has been claiming that the data-driven matching approach is their mission for the past few years, but unfortunately they still seem to want to put everything behind a paywall.

I love using Glacier for photo archival. Every month, I transfer all the photos of my Android device and my wife's iPhone, zip them, and push to Glacier. It's very manual at the moment, but it's super cheap archival for all my photos.
