Fair point. Surely my solution would not work against such an enemy, since there is no "head" to attack swiftly.

The comment that you commented on didn't say that we should stay home from all wars; he/she said that the government should be decisive about when and where to attack. The final sentence, that we should just stay home, was referri

Yeah, that's a good point: if force absolutely needs to be done, let it be swift and to the point. Drawing out a foreign war, and then griping about casualties, is no way to keep the peace. Let alone the unknown intentions of said war.

It would be the height of insanity to not read this piece and be wary of the combination of ideologies that can lead to fascism, and to draw parallels to modern times. I can't comment much on the individual points because I've nev

There was another project that's extremely similar to this posted a week or so ago, and it got a lot of flak for existing; I don't think very many commenters agreed with its existence (except, perhaps, as an educational exercise f

I agree with each and every one of your comments; in addition, I would like to know how this project was created: what language it was made in, why the author found it necessary to create it, etc.

The primary difference between the States and the EU is that the federal government is checked by the power of the state governments. The EU has no such check.

This was in direct response to the article, in which Google Fiber's new policy strips users of their Constitutional rights.

Does anybody care about the Constitution anymore? It seems like every day I read an article about someone either going against the Constitution, or getting very close to denying its importance in the United States.

Finally! Someone had to say it. These sorts of situations (low percentage of women engineers) are not issues; they're just facts, and most likely caused by, generally enough, the way that women and men think/act/desire. It&#x

I actually watched the majority of this, it's a very interesting talk. I'd imagine that all of us are going to need to use at least some statistics one day, so I consider it time well spent.

This is going against exactly what Doug is arguing, though: Unix taste includes having many small, perfectly-designed programs to achieve great power. Adding more and more features to something simple adds complexity, and therefore, in Doug
